About Us

Who We Are

100% of all rider sponsor donations go directly to organizations committed to fighting hunger and poverty.

What began as a dream to help feed the hungry with the pledges from a bike tour has blossomed into a non-denominational charity that is blessed to have many concerned and motivated volunteers who are committed to battling hunger.
In 2019, we are privileged to support the following agencies dedicated to helping those in need:
  • Atlantic City Rescue Mission
  • Cast Your Cares Ministries  (CYC)
  • Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton
  • Elijah’s Promise
  • FACT (Friends Acting and Caring Together)
  • Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties
  • Rescue Mission of Trenton
  • Toni’s Kitchen (Montclair, NJ)
  • Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK)
  • Jubilee Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey
    • All Saints’ Church (Lakewood, NJ) Jubilee Center
    • Cristo Rey (Trenton, NJ) Jubilee Center
    • San Andres (Camden, NJ) Jubilee Center
    • San Jose (Elizabeth, NJ) Jubilee Center
    • St. Alban’s Church (New Brunswick, NJ) Jubilee Center
    • St. Peter’s Church (Perth Amboy, NJ) – WE CARE! Food Pantry coalition
    • St. Stephen’s Church (Whiting, NJ) Jubilee Center

About BAH's Founder
As an active member in
Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Chuck Inman, founder of Battle Against Hunger, became aware of the daunting task that too many of New Jersey’s residents face in providing basic food for themselves and their families. Chuck’s passion for helping others is rooted in the experiences he lived while serving fellow Americans in the Vietnam conflict. Prior to moving to New Jersey, Chuck played an integral role in inspiring others by his service to the Boy Scouts of America and the Central Virginia Food Bank. When he combined that passion with his passion for cycling, the Battle Against Hunger was born.

Picture
We lost Chuck on March 20, 2014 when the car that he and his wife Pam were in was hit by a driver who was under the influence of alcohol. We know he is with his Heavenly Father and his legacy continues to live on through the Battle Against Hunger.

If you or a loved one struggle with addiction, help is available through many of the
charities we support.
