7th Annual Battle Against Hunger Bike Tour Returns to Historic Ellarslie Mansion, Home of the Trenton City Museum at Cadwalader Park
On Sunday, September 13, 2009 nearly 200 enthusiastic supporters of all ages were on hand to cheer on over 30 riders as the 7th annual Battle Against Hunger bike tour returned from Gettysburg, concluding on the grounds of Cadwalader Park. While family and friends gathered, live music was provided by Zigman Bird from the terrace of the mansion.
The celebration included a barbecue open to all Park and Museum visitors, offered at family-friendly prices and prepared by the catering staff of the Rescue Mission of Trenton. Also helping to set up the event were the Boy Scouts of Troop 71 from Hopewell, NJ.
Members of the Trenton Museum Society and friends of BAH partnered together to lend their support to our first event at the Park. As part of the festivities, a New Jersey state flag -- flown over the Gettysburg Battlefield -- was gratefully presented to Brian O. Hill, Director and Curator of the Museum and was symbolically placed at the Civil War monument within the Park. The flag will be framed for display inside the Museum.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success!

Rating Ride Difficulty
The two biggest indicators of a ride’s difficulty are it’s length and the total number of feet climbed. On each cue sheet the length, climbing feet and a number of other values that can help determine a ride’s difficulty are listed. There is also a ‘Difficulty’ rating, which is an arithmetic combination of factors that attempts to rate all our train rides on a scale. Rides are divided into four categories; Easy, Moderate, Difficult, and Most Difficult.
As a comparison, each of the half-day 50 mile rides that make up the Gettysburg to Trenton ride fall in the 50 to 80 range.
Join us for our weekend training rides, or use the cue sheets to train on your own. If you’d like to drop us a line, or have any questions, please email us at: bah-training@battleagainsthunger.org
