The Children’s Bike Ride
Launched in 2006 by Battle Against Hunger Volunteers Pam and John Krisulewicz, the Children’s Bike Ride has proven to be a vital addition to raising awareness of the hunger problem in New Jersey.
Today’s children, more in tune with events of the world we live in that prior generations, are motivated and happy to be able to make a difference in the world today. Participation in the Children’s Bike Ride provides a fun filled safe arena for children to learn that their participation does make a difference!
Held yearly on Pennington Day in Pennington, NJ. The Children’s Bike Tour is held in a small, safely secured area in a residential neighborhood. Children receive pledges from family and friends for their participation then set out on the supervised course and ride their bikes to raise funds to help feed the hungry. All participants proudly wear their specially printed shirts that show that they have made a difference in the battle against hunger!
Please spread the word and have your children join us in the Battle Against Hunger Children’s Ride

The Parish Life Guild of Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pennington, New Jersey sponsors the Battle Against Hunger, a public awareness campaign. Saint Matthew's is a registered 501 (C) 3 non-profit corporation.
The Adult Idea- What began as a dream in 2003 to help feed the hungry with funds from a small bike tour has blossomed into a non-profit organization dedicated to raising public awareness about hunger and assisting those who provide services to those in need. Chuck Inman, founder, along with the Parish Life Guild of Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pennington and a cadre of volunteers have joined together to create a non-denominational event that promises 100% of its pledges go to benefit the hungry. The 2006 200-mile bike ride is scheduled to take place over the weekend of September 8 through 10. The tour, which utilizes the least traveled roads between Pennington and Gettysburg, Pa., includes flat and hilly terrains, and provides riders with breathtaking views of the Amish and central Pennsylvania countryside. The 2005 adult ride included 25 riders and raised over $54,000.
The Next Step, Our Children--- Because of interest by our children, who are not old enough to participate in the adult bike ride, we will hold the Children's Battle Against Hunger bike ride for the third year. Interested children will register to participate and will ask for pledges from family and friends. Depending on the age and stamina of the child, a biker (tricycles and scooters, too) can ride for 1 block, 3 blocks to a couple of miles, all within a neighborhood loop located next to Toll Gate Elementary School. Parents should walk or ride next to their child, especially if the child's age is less than 6 and adult volunteers will be posted at intersections. Registration per child is $5.00 (children aged 3-13) and includes a t-shirt and refreshments. If you are interested in participating, please return the attached form. Upon processing of your form, you will then receive a detailed package of information.
